Aleph Books has changed ownership on January 1 st 2023 – the shop is now run by Ris Schortinghuis. We are still working on a new database, which will be linked to this website once it goes live. Until then, you can find our books online through several reseller sites listed below.

FAQ

1. Can I pick up a book I found on one of the reseller sites in the shop?
   Yes, of course! Some of our books are at a separate location, so we ask you to send us an email in advance so we can retrieve the desired tome before you visit us.
   
2. Do you still buy books?
   We do, but very selectively. We have limited space and a limited budget. Plus, since we are one of the few physical shops left, we get offered rows and shelves and libraries full of books every day. We ask you to send a simple photo of the books you would like to sell or donate to us via email, so we can look at them before anyone does any heavy lifting.

3. Are the previous owners still around?
   Jan van Hassel and Paul van den Hoven have both retired, but continue to help out behind the scenes.
